DotCom Secrets by Russell Brunson: Book Summary & Review

DotCom Secrets by Russell Brunson, is probably the best book you want to get if you’re planning to start an online business (or if you have one already) pretty much hands down.

It not uncommon to hear the phrase “the best book i’ve read in years” or “groundbreaking” or “eye opening” and so on. So obviously it makes you wonder what the big deal is…

So what makes this book so great and what’s so special about it?

Let’s take a look.

What’s This Book About?

The idea behind this book, in my eyes, is basically to show any business owner or any aspiring entrepreneur, how to go about running their business in the modern era.

In an age where blogs have replaced newspapers, letters have been replaced by emails and television by Youtube, it’s essential for you as a business, to be online of course but apart from that, you need to have things structured in an efficient way.

The DotCom Secrets book is so great, because of how amazingly evident the “big picture” is portrayed, and how easily it’s explained in the hands of Russell Brunson.

It’s just around 250 pages long and the writing style that Russell uses, is really down to earth too.

Now i don’t know about you…but to me it’s a relief read text, that feels like it has it’s “own personality”. You know what i mean? Almost as if you’re “listening to the author speak”. And Russell does just that.

How Is The DotCom Secrets Book Structured?

The book is divided into 5 clear sections which we’ll go through one by one.

Section 1 – Ladders and Funnels

In this section in particular, we’re introduced with the concept of the value ladder and the funnel.

The value ladder is a visual map of all the products and/or services you have available to offer as a business, and where each step of the ladder, represents a higher price point and thus a higher quality/value product.

What do you think the chances are, that your ideal client will buy your most expensive product upfront without knowing you? Not very likely. Right?

Instead, you want to offer your least expensive product first.

DotCom Secrets Book 2

This is for your customer to get to know you and introduce them to your world. After that, you can offer them your more “premium” products. The company Apple, for example, works similar to this.

A funnel, on the other hand, is a very optimized way to lead customers into taking the actions you want them to take, and they’re mentioned throughout the whole book.

Russell mentions many of the different types of funnels that exist but he also makes very clear that for this to work, you need to know your dream customer, very well.

Finally for the last part, Russell talks about the different kinds of traffic

-The traffic you don’t control.
-The traffic you control.
-The traffic you own

Understanding this last part, is absolutely crucial to maintaining an online business.

Traffic Is SO Important… He Also Made A Book About That 🙂

Section 2 – Your Communication/Follow-up Funnel

In this section, Russell goes over the importance of what he calls “an attractive character”

This is someone that your target consumer can relate to, that has the same problems, same aspirations and ambitions as they do.

It’s someone that can show, that with the help of your specific product or service, they were able to solve the same problems as your potential customer might have.

Apart from that, in this section Russell also ties in the importance of email and the idea of an email sequence. He discusses the proper emails to send out to your customers and he even gives you the scripts for them, which is amazing, and is worth getting the book for on it’s own.

Section 3 – Funnelology

This section is all about the funnels. Russell goes over the different kinds of funnels, reverse engineering them, the different “phases”, the 20 something building blocks.

He talks about what to have on the front end, the back end and also how to get potential customers into your sales funnel through that initial offer or “bait” as he calls it.

Russell emphasizes that you SHOULD NOT start building your funnel from scratch. That someone out there already has, and that you should imitate (not copy) their efforts. This is an amazing “hack”, not only for building funnels, but for life in general 😉

Section 4 – Funnels And Scripts

In this section Russell goes into detail into his own sales funnels, and the psychology that he uses behind the creation of each of them, to ensure that they work.

I’m not going to spoil all of the funnels for you here, but some of the funnels that he discusses, include: The product launch funnel, The High Ticket Funnel and the oh so very famous Perfect Webinar Funnel

He also gives you his own fill in the blank scripts for you to use on your own business and your own funnels which makes it even better.

The perfect webinar funnel script in particular, is SO common it’s crazy. If it’s being used that much, it’s because it just simply works amazingly.

Section 5 – Clickfunnels!

In this final section Russell promotes his Flagship Software which is ClickFunnels.

ClickFunnels is basically the software that allows you to create those highly optimized funnel (depending on what you want your customers to go through).

It’s drag and drop easy and it’s the best one in the marketplace as of right now, no doubt about it.

How Much Does DotCom Secrets Cost?

The DotCom Secrets book is fairly cheap, in fact it for FREE through this magical link Right Here.

You do have to pay for shipping handling though. But Russell guarantees that you love it.

Also, if you happen not to love it, you can get your shipping fee refunded and you can keep the book anyways. But only if you don’t love it! (you will ?)

Conclusion

That is all! That’s my review of the DotCom Secrets book by Russell Brunson.

All in all, a great book, has a ton of actionable contents, it’s something that’s really easy to read and definitely will call for a re-read once in awhile.

Plus, the scripts, the sales pages and emails are amazing to have too. In particular the emails and the “perfect webinar script”. This one is literally the SAME one that pretty much every single person that runs a webinar uses (that i’ve seen, and i’ve been through a lot of them).

I highly recommend this book for anybody who wants to take their business online.

Maybe you got a family member, a colleague or a sibling you’ve wanted to partner up with to start building something amazing online?

Whatever the case, the teachings from Russell Brunson, are pure gold.
