GrooveFunnels, or ClickFunnels? Which one is better? In this GrooveFunnels vs ClickFunnels review article, I’ll be discussing both of these SAAS platforms/apps, and I’ll be going over price differences, features and more, so that you have an idea of what each of them brings to the table.

GrooveFunnels And ClickFunnels. What Are They?

So if you’re reading this article, chances are that you’re aware of what both of the platforms/apps do, but in case you’re unaware, let me go ahead and tell you all about them. ?

Basically, they’re both online platforms or services (also known as software as a service or SAAS for short) that will allow you to manage your online business, easily, without knowing any code, without being tech-savvy, without any developers…none of that.

They’re essentially online marketing solutions, that are made to help ease the pain and solve problems when it comes to your online business, so that you can easily increase conversions (mostly in the case of ClickFunnels) and/or centralize every single tool that you need (mostly found in the case of GrooveFunnels).

These are both top of the food-chain, super high-quality, multi-million dollar per year tech companies, and are the very best when it comes to online sales and marketing tools. As such, they’re both incredibly robust and very effective at what they do.

They allow you to: Create sales funnels, products pages, create live and automated webinars, they allow you to do behavioral targeting, host videos, do email marketing and SMS marketing, create landing pages and use high-converting pre-made templates that incentivize customers to take actions and increase the average order value…and much much more.

Even though the tools are fairly similar in nature (although fairly different in what they can accomplish) they both have different features to them.

Let’s go over the features of each of them here.

ClickFunnels

✅  ClickFunnels is mainly a sales funnel builder. It’s known as the number 1 sales funnel builder on the planet, and is second to basically no one. That’s where ClickFunnels excels at and that is what they’re good at. They build sales funnels for digital and physical products and services.

The company has been dedicated to sales funnel building since 2015, has dominated the marketplace, has over 100 thousand customers worldwide, and is a category king when it comes to online sales but more specifically, in sales funnel builders, like we were mentioning.

✅  ClickFunnels allows you to create high-converting sales funnels, with cross sells, upsell pages checkout pages and everything in between, in super easy drag-n-drop fashion, so you don’t need to know any coding, web designing…none of that.  

✅  It includes 2 main plans which are the standard plan (worth $97/month) and the platinum plan, (worth $297/month) both of which have similar features. The platinum plan of course, complements and ads onto the standard plan.

✅ The standard plan, gives you access to their world-renown funnel builder, gives access to up to 20 funnels, up to 100 pages (that you can have on all your funnels, so around 5 pages per funnel on average) and gives you up to 3 custom domains to integrate.

✅ The premium version of ClicKFunnels, ClickFunnels Platinum is the highest tier of ClickFunnels plans. It was formerly known as the “Etison Suite” and is their “unlimited version“. It gives you access to their funnel building software, just as in the standard version, but also allows for some additional stuff…

It allows for unlimited funnels, pages, leads, and visitors. You also get access to up to 9 custom domain integration, daily virtual hackathons, access to a private forum, followup funnels and a few more goodies like FunnelFlix, which is a compilation of tons of content that was previously only available for private coaching students.

GrooveFunnels

GrooveFunnels, as opposed to ClickFunnels, is an all-in-one marketing platform, and not just a sales funnel builder.

It was created by Mike Filsaime, who co-founded another very well known all-in-one marketing platform called Kartra. After leaving the company and after the 2 year “non compete” contract that he signed had expired…his team and him ventures into creating something even better than Kartra, known as GrooveFunnels.

✅ As an all one marketing platform, not only does it create sales funnels but it also does email marketing, quiz and surveys, it has a complete website AND blog builder, product funnel builder, a helpdesk platform, it allows you to create automated and live webinars, allows you to host videos, membership sites AND it gives you a fee-free sellers and affiliate account. 

GrooveFunnels, thus, is much more than just a sales funnel builder, since it can also serve as a substitute for merchant sites like ClickBank.com, PayKickStart, a substitute for webinar builders like EverWebinar, a substitute for email marketing platforms like ActiveCampaign, a potential substitute for WordPress, Wistia and even a substitute for funnels like ClickFunnels!

Pricing Plans

Now let’s talk about the different pricing plans for each of the Softwares. The pricing plans are the following:

ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels has 2 different payment plans/options.

The $97/month plan. Which is the basic plan that allows for up to 20 funnels, and is the most widely used. It allows you to create complete sales funnels and gives you all the templates and premade funnels to do so. 

With this plan, you get up to 20,000 visitors per month, up to 100 pages and up to 3 custom domains.

The premium plan, also called ClickFunnels Platinum costs $297/month and allows for unlimited funnels, pages, followup funnels, unlimited visitors per month, has email marketing integrations and solution (not including autoresponder) and also has the features that we mentioned before: FunnelFlix, Funnel hacker forum, daily Hack-a-thons, and more.

This plan also allows you to integrate up to 9 custom domains.

GrooveFunnels

Currently, GrooveFunnels has 4 different pricing options to choose from.

-GrooveFunnels Base Plan (FREE): The GrooveFunnels base plan, gives you access to GroovePages Lite, GrooveAffiliate and GrooveSell absolutely for free. It’s a free account that you can use for as long as you want, and doesn’t “expire”, which is why I consider it as a plan.

-GrooveFunnels Silver $99/month: This is the starting plan, and it gives you access to GroovePages PRO, GrooveAffiliate, GrooveSell, GrooveMail, GrooveMember and GrooveVideo.

This plan gives you, not only the GroovePages PRO (which allows you to add custom domains and have unlimited websites) but also gives you a complete integrated autoresponder in GrooveMail, with up to 25,000 FREE contacts that you can mail for free (apart from the video hoster and membership platform).

To put it into perspective, for $150/month, you can host up to 25,000 contacts in your everyday autoresponder. GrooveFunnels silver plan, charges you less and also gives you a complete, unlimited funnel builder, video hoster and membership platform on top of it.

-GrooveFunnels Gold $199/month: Is the mid tier pricing plan, within the GrooveFunnels platform, and it includes the same features as with the GrooveFunnels Silver version, with the addition the following apps:

• GrooveBlog, which allows you to create complete blog sites with the power of GroovePages.
• GrooveSurvey and GrooveQuiz, allow you to create quizzes and surveys on top of your websites.
• GrooveDesk, which allows you to handle customer support tickets.
• GrooveCalendar, which allows you to schedule meetings, online classes, coaching sessions, and so on.

-GrooveFunnels Platinum $299/month: Is the highest tier of subscription plans within the GrooveFunnels platform, and it allows you to get access to everything in the GrooveFunnels Gold plan, including the following:

GrooveWebinar live and GrooveFunnels automated, which will allow you to run both automated and live webinars.

GroovePages for Shopify, which allows you to use the GroovePages technology on your own Shopify store (app within the Shopify app store)

GrooveKart* account (ONLY for GrooveFunnels platinum LIFETIME members) which is a Shopify competitor that allows you to create your own online store for digital and physical products (for dropshipping, e-commerce and print on demand).   

Do They Have Free Trials Or Free Plans?

Yes, both GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels have a “free” option available, albeit slightly different. 

ClickFunnels – Free 14 Day Free trial

In the case of ClickFunnels, you’ll be able to get access to the whole funnel building software, at “platinum” level (unlimited pages, funnels and more) for a whole 14 days (with a potential extension, if you ask for one, although it’s not guaranteed) after which the $97/month option kicks in. 

You’ll not be limited to the number of funnels and pages you can create, but when the trial wears off, you’ll no longer have access to anything, unless you upgrade. 

GrooveFunnels – Free GrooveSell,GrooveAffiliate, and GroovePages Lite account

In the case of GrooveFunnels, however, the team over at GrooveDigital currently, and as of the writing of this article, has available a free GrooveSell, GrooveAffiliate and GroovePages lite account, which you can get here. 

This free GrooveFunnels account will allow you to create up to 3 websites using their powerful javascript framework technology (hosted by GrooveFunnels and of which you’ll get a GrooveFunnels subdomain), unlimited product funnels, affiliates, customers, support and so on…

Plus, you will also give you access to a free affiliate marketplace, with instant approval to promote their product too. 

Partner Programs

Both ClickFunnels and GrooveFunnels, have a partner program associated with it, however, there are considerable differences between them. Let’s check them out because they’re super important to keep an eye out for.

ClickFunnels

In the case of ClickFunnels, and paraphrased right from their own affiliate signup page, the affiliate compensation plan, is as follows:

New affiliates earn 20% commissions on each purchased ClickFunnels subscription. Once you’ve earned $1,000 in one month, you can apply to earn 30% commissions and once you have at least 40 active ClickFunnels members paying for their subscription, you can apply to increase your commissions to 40%.

Back in 2018, it used to be that every affiliate made 40% recurring commissions on all products, regardless, and it makes these “new rules” feel like a joke. I’m sure a lot of people were unhappy with the changes, since 40 paying members is hard to accomplish.

GrooveFunnels

GrooveFunnels affiliate program, offers 20% monthly recurring commissions on all of their plans, for all of their members (including free, same as ClickFunnels).

GrooveFunnels also allows for an instant bump in commissions to 40% of the generated revenue, if you decide to become a paying customer, regardless of the amount of money you’ve made or people that you’ve signed up.

The downside of the GrooveFunnles affiliate program, is that you’ll not make any commissions on the backend products inside of the GrooveFunnels ecosystem, like Live events, the “Marketers Cruise” and services like GrooveAds.

Final Verdict.

All in all, both software platforms are a great deal and are amazingly useful and high quality. and it really depends on what you’re interested in doing.

In this section however, I’m going to be going over what I personally think are the pros and cons of each one, and try to come to a conclusion of which I’d recommend in each case and why.

ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels is going to be THE go-to funnel builder software, if you’re interested in creating sales funnels. But that’s about it…

The free trial is rather short, and if you’re a serious business getting thousands of visitors per day or who need to build multiple funnels, you’ll quickly find that you’ll run out of space, and you’ll have to upgrade to the $297/month option, which can be kind of expensive.

Even if ClickFunnels is very robust, and the most high-quality sales funnel builder out there, it really lacks when it comes to SEO. The pages are NOT going to be ranking in Google, because of how the software operates.

Apart from this, you’ll still need to get other tools like autoresponders and webinar software outside of the platform, which can get pretty expensive, fast.

On the flip side, the software is very easy to use and the premium plan gives is very valuable, by providing you with daily hack-a-thons, Funnelflix and all the other bonuses like all of the recorded 30 day challenges and a bunch of other stuff.

GrooveFunnels 

GrooveFunnels is going to be your go-to software if you need more than just a sales funnel builder. 

GrooveFunnels is the new kid in the block and isn’t as robust and as honed-in as ClickFunnels is. It does a lot more, which also means there is more space for bugs, errors and interferences between apps.

A really good thing about GrooveFunnels (if it wasn’t obvious already) is that you’ll get everything you’d ever need to build your online business, without having to go elsewhere for around the same cost as a platinum plan of ClickFunnels would be.

Even the GrooveFunnels silver plan, gives you a funnel builder, video hoster, seller and affiliate account, membership site and an autoresponder with 25,000 free contacts for the same price as just the funnel builder side of ClickFunnels (okay it’s 2 dollars more). 

GrooveFunnels is using a technology that is brand new, and makes websites load super fast. They’re also SEO optimized and are the first of their kind to use the “mobile-first indexing” clause. Getting your sites ranking on Google is a HUGE benefit that can not be understated.

Unfortunately, GrooveFunnels is still in development, which means that most of the more juicy and interesting apps are still not available (they’re coming in late mid and late 2020 and in 2021).

We’ll have to wait to be able to use them (including GrooveWebinar, which is only available in the GrooveFunnels platinum plan) but the future seems really bright for the platform.
