Helium 10 Vs ZonBase. Which Is The Better Platform For You?
In order to be a successful seller on the Amazon marketplace, you may just need some tools to help you out. There are many software, guides and books out there all claiming to do the same thing – help you maximize your revenue. So how many of these live up to the claim?
It’s safe to say that both Helium 10 and Zonbase do. These aren’t just tools, they’re strategies that can help you tackle the daunting world of online business. These tools help you with everything from keyword knowledge to refund management and more.
In this Helium 10 vs Zonbase post/article I’ll be going over both software, I’ll be highlighting a few essential differences between them, we’ll be going over pricing, the chrome extensions, the free trials…and much more. In doing so, we can establish a fair comparison which will help you decide which one is best suited to your needs.
Helium 10 Vs Zonbase: A Comparison
In this section, I’ll briefly go over what each of the platforms are, in case you’re not familiar with them.
Helium 10 – One of the most popular Amazon tools, Helium 10 is noted for its accuracy and convenience. This all in one solution for sellers consists of 17 tools that range from competitor analysis to fraud prevention.
Not only is is a software platform that gives you access to all the tools you’d even need when it comes to building and scaling your Amazon business, but it’s also a hub for Amazon sellers, and contains a bunch of free resources like free webinars, free podcasts, how to videos, ebooks and more. It’s also done partnerships with other brands and programs, to give to their users, has the number 1 most downloaded Chrome extension for Amazon sellers in the market, and has a super active community.
ZonBase – Zonbase is easily one of the most user-friendly tools for Amazon sellers. It has all the tools required for a beginner to find their way selling profitably on Amazon. It has many useful tools such as a revenue estimator, keyword finder, brand rank tracking, etc.
ZonBase is a little bit less known of a software platform than Helium 10, but it still packs quite the punch. It has some of the most crucial tools like a ranking tracker, a keyword research tool, a downloadable chrome extension, and also offers some one-time services like coaching, done for you PPC and ranking services , apart from being the only other Helium 10 alternative out there (at least that I’ve been able to find), with an a la carte pricing option.
Even though most of the tools of either platform are awesome in their own right, the main basis of using a tool or software platform (at least for most users) is having the ability to use the research tools. Whether that be keyword research tools, product research tools, or any other type of competition research tool.
Basically, most users will be looking for new opportunities, than those who already have a business and want to scale.
In this section, we’ll be looking at the differences between the keyword research tools from both of the platforms.
- Keyword research tools:
Helium 10 – Helium 10, has what is known as the Helium 10 Magnet keyword research tool, and is one of the best (if not the best, and most powerful keyword research tool in the market) that provides sellers with popular and actionable keywords, and very abundant data. It also suggests high volume keywords that help your products attract visitors and stand out among competitors, and gives you tons of room to work with.
The best feature of this tool (in addition to being one of the most data-rich keyword research tools around), is that it has filters that help you narrow down your search and choose the best keywords to fit your needs.
Zonbase – Zonbase too provides sellers with a keyword tool. This tool helps you find and choose the best keywords that match your product description and bring in potential buyers. You can even look at the keywords your rivals rate with while using this tool.
While Zonbase’s keyword research tool may not be as accurate, as powerful and as relevant as Helium 10’s, it’s still one of the best ones currently available for Amazon sellers out there today.
- Reverse ASIN:
Helium 10 – Helium 10 has the Helium 10 Cerebro, a reverse ASIN tool that spews keywords related to any product URL you insert into it. This can save you hours and hours of research over the internet as it suggests the best keywords within seconds and helps you evaluate the competition.
It also has an IQ score that allows you to understand how good or otherwise any product is. A high score is typical to a product that has a lot of searches with very little competition – a useful parameter.
Zonbase – The Zonbase reverse ASIN tool is mainly designed to help you spy on competitors. You can use this tool to enter ASINS of what you consider to be your top 3 competitors, sit back and wait for it to load results. This facilitates quick and easy comparison which allows you to focus on ways through which you can get ahead of them instead of doing this research on your own.
- Product Research Tool:
Helium 10 – Helium 10’s research tool is called BlackBox. Using this tool, you can research just about every product niche there is. This allows sellers to eliminate unnecessary details and focus only on the best productive opportunities. These details are mainly related to search volume and monthly sales. This allows you to save time on manually researching the best product niches that bring in the most revenue and let you devote time to marketing instead.
Zonbase – The Zonbase research tool helps you narrow down your search for the perfect product among well over 15 million products listed on Amazon. The research tool works well with the chrome extension to ensure you get the results you desire in just a few seconds. These product ideas are mainly useful because of how quick and easy they are to access.
Sales Estimate Accuracy:
Helium 10 – Since Helium 10 sources its information directly from Amazon itself, it’s no surprise that their data is both reliable and accurate. It currently has the highest sales accuracy figure standing at a whopping 96%. It’s evident from this figure why even the most experienced Amazon sellers are regular users of Helium 10.
Zonbase – While Zonbase might not have the highest percentage of sales accuracy, it’s still impressive at 85%. This gives it a definitive edge over other popular tools such as Unicorn Smasher and ASIN Spector. These may be up and coming tools to watch out for but with a higher sales accuracy estimate, Zonbase is (if only marginally) more reliable.
Helium 10 – Since Helium 10 is probably the top Amazon Seller all-in-one tool platform out there today, it’s no surprise that it’s a little pricey. It also allows for most flexibility, out of all of the other Helium 10 alternatives out there. You can either choose a fixed plan (ranging from $97 – $397) or go for an a la carte option (ranging from $17 – $97) through which you pay by usage (although not all of the tools are available).
Zonbase – Zonbase may not be as popular as Helium 10 but there’s not much difference between their pricing. Their plans range from $47 per month to $97 per month. If you opt for an annual subscription, however, then these prices go down to $37 per month and $67 per month respectively.
ZonBase also allows its users for buy services as a one time price (like product launch, done for you PPC campaigns and coaching), as well as being the only other platform (that I’ve found) that has the a-la-carte pricing option for most of its tools. It also has a third tier pricing plan, for those sellers that have more than 100 products on the Amazon marketplace.
Helium 10 – When it comes to Free trials, in the case of Helium 10, there is nothing of that sort available. Instead, what Helium 10 offers its users, is access to a completely free Helium 10 account. The Helium 10 free account, gives its users access to some of the main tools of the software, albeit for limited usage or a limited time.
Even if you can only use tools like the Helium 10 Scribbles for a few days, or the Helium 10 Cerebro for a couple of searches a day…it costs you nothing to get started, AND there is no credit card required for you to set one up.
Zonbase – When it comes to the Zonbase platform, in this case, they offers you a 7-day free trial of the software, instead of a free account.
The difference here, is that you’ll be able to try out all of the tools without limit, although you’ll have to add a payment method and choose a plan that you’re interested in using, if the 7 day trial were to start, and you were still interested in carrying on with your subscription.
The ZonBase free trial, is rather short when compared to some other alternatives, but it’s still long enough to give you an idea of how well it can work for you. If you want to try out ZonBase, you can set up a free trial account, here.
Downloadable Chrome Extension
Helium 10 – When it comes the Chrome extension, Helium 10 offers all of its users a free downloadable Chrome extension to help you with your product research.
This Chrome extension, is the number 1 most downloaded extension for Amazon sellers, with over 300,000 downloads (as of the writing of this article).
This tool, gives you instant access to tons of different features and data on specific Amazon ASIN (through the Helium 10 X ray), which include: Pricing, number of competitors, expected revenue for the product, number of reviews, fulfillment information and more.
The Chrome extension, also gives allows you to do things like study the top ASINs on a complete page (with the ASIN grabber), it allows you to estimate based on existing products the possibility of you selling a product of your own, taking into consideration things like package size, Amazon fees and price (through the profitability calculator). Plus, it allows you to see product inventory levels and look at the reviews for specific products to see what customers are saying.
All of this…for free.
ZonBase – The ZonBase Chrome extension, allows you to do much of what you’d be able to do with the Helium 10 chrome extension. By downloading it onto your browser, it allows you to instantly uncover information regarding the product you’re researching, including branding, pricing, the amount of revenue the product is making, type of fulfillment, the amount of reviews, ranking products, number of sellers, and more.
It doesn’t have as many features as the Helium 10 chrome extension though. For example, the profitability calculator (which is a fairly advanced feature), is not something that you can accomplish with the ZonBase tool. With that said, the more basic keyword research functions and other features, you’ll have no problem with.
A pretty big downside with the ZonBase Chrome extension in particular, however, is the fact that not only is it not a free Chrome extension (like in the case of Helium 10) but it’s also not available for the basic plan, and can only be accessed through the Legendary plan.
Helium 10 – Helium 10, has one of the most extensive set of resources for Amazon sellers, that there is. This includes a free webinar library, interviews with expert sellers, a weekly podcast, other free resources like e-books, courses and trainings, as well as some paid resources for customers, like the Freedom ticket Amazon seller premium course.
This is not to mention some of the paid resources for higher-end customers (the Helium 10 Elite members in particular) which include quarterly one on one coaching, access to a FaceBook group where you’ll have access to all all of the other Helium 10 Elite members, and more.
ZonBase – Unfortunately, ZonBase is, one of the platforms that has the least amount of resources (outside of the tools) available, even when compared to some of other alternatives to the main contender, Helium 10.
With that said, you still get a few options like the Free coaching call, which you can schedule with one of the ZonBase coaches, and they also have a blog that is updated fairly regularly.
Alrighty, so that would be the end of this Helium 10 vs Zonbase review, I hope that it was helpful enough.
As you can see, either the Helium 10 or the ZonBase platform, is going to be better for some users, and worse for others. It’ll all depend on what you’re looking for.
- If you’re interested in getting absolutely every tool, and want the best of the best (including access to some great resources that you’ll not find anywhere else) then you’d probably want to go with Helium 10. It’s the category king of this field, and the best option for you to choose, if you want the best.
- On the other hand, if you want to have access to a platform that is a little bit less known, that has a bit tighter community or are on a bit of a budget, I suggest you try ZonBase. Whilst it doesn’t have some of the fancier tools like the Helium 10 refund genie or the Helium 10 Alta finance analytics…you still get access to all of the main tools that you need, for a lot cheaper pricing and you even get the chance to get tools, for a one-time price too.
