If you are a marketer or a YouTuber…you need good videos with great audio. This is pretty much a must, and there is almost no going around it. However, a lot of people either don’t have the best great accent and much less the confidence to read a script and have it published.
The truth is that not all of us are great speakers. And this lack of “speaking” skill can deter us from publishing great audio content. I think the statistic was that the average person, will speak something of a total of 5 minutes per day…that’s not a lot if you want to get good at video.
A great solution to get awesome audio for your videos, is Speechelo, and in this Speechelo review, we’ll be going over the software, the pricing, the features, and more…and I’ll help you decide if this is the ultimate “robot reader” that you need for your marketing endeavors, or not.
What Is Speechelo?
So first thing’s first…what is Speechelo? Is what does it do?
Speechelo, like we briefly mentioned before, is a software that converts text into speech.
And why would you be interested in trying out a speech generation software for your videos? Well, according to Speechelo, it’s because, the alternatives you can choose to use, if you’re not using the software, are the following:
- First, you can hire a professional voice-over artist.
Here, there is of course, a high possibility of having a great, finished product. No doubt about it.
But it is not assured.
You might have to ask for that person to redo the audio, which can take an extra day or two, might cost extra money and might not even come out the way you want it, on that second try either!
It is also costly.
Having to pay per audio, on something like Fiverr or Upwork, can get really expensive, really fast.
And trust me, I was looking at getting complete videos done for $100 each, and getting charged per word of written speech…can really stack up.
- Second, you can opt for free robotic voices.
A number of programs that offer this service are available online. You don’t need to pay anything to make them of course…but these are just TERRIBLE in terms of actual quality.
As you may have noticed, neither of these is ideal…
Not to mention, you might pay someone through the option number 1…that is using software from method number 2 and isn’t using their own voice in the first place!
And yes, that does happen… 🙄
Speechelo though, does things a bit differently, since it’s a more robust AI-generated system, and it’s also a lot more simple, since you can get your audio finished in just three simple steps.
Specifically, here are the things that you need to do on the platform:
- Paste your script in the provided text box.
- Choose from languages, voices, and accents.
- Generate the audio and download it.
The AI is then going to read through your text, and record the audio for you. You can now use that recording on any one of your videos, without any more hassles.
Now…the question that is probably on everyone’s mind: How good is the audio quality? Does it sound real? Is it good?
Well, unlike others, Speechelo assures you that the sounds they provide sound exactly like a human voice—not like what you hear from Alexa and Siri and other robots.
You don’t have to worry about it sounding too automated or fake, because it doesn’t.
To test this out, I sent a friend of mine, the audio file of the Spanish speaking AI, and told him I was thinking of hiring this person, and wanted to know his opinion on it.
You know what he said?
“What are you going to hire her for?”
He didn’t realize that the sound, was actually from an AI using Speechelo, and not a real person! 😂
How great is that!?
With that said, I think that the Spanish voice, in particular, is a lot better sounding, than some of the English (British) voices, in particular the male one….so you’ll probably want to filter that out.
A really nice addition, their system also detects possible errors in the script you provided.
Features of Speechelo
Let’s take a look at what makes the Speechelo software, so great.
One of the main things about Speechelo that you need to know, is that it runs on a cloud-based system. This is pretty much standard protocol for a lot of online apps and software as a service (SAAS) platforms nowadays, and it of course comes with a lot of benefits.
Whenever an update regarding new features, software improvements, and the likes come, it is automatically installed. There is no need for manually downloading and installing each of the updates separately.
This also makes the software compatible with a lot of devices (PC, Android, Apple, etc).
And of course, the cherry on top of the cake, you don’t have to worry about losing information…because everything is automatically stored in the software.
This last part might seem obvious…but I’ve personally, probably lost my data, at least 3 times in the past, by NOT having my information stored in the cloud.
Speechelo takes pride in its voice library. They offer a HUGE variety of voices from 23 different countries, male, female and also child. In the basic version, which we’ll be mentioning late, you have access to 30 choices.
They are sorted out according to their names. So for example, you’d have:
- Billy – US English (Male)
- Rosie – US English (Female)
- Arthur – British English (Male)
- Beatrix – British English (Female)
And you can go ahead and choose the different voices, from that list.
I highly recommend actually heading to the site and listening to the voice samples.
Online Text Editor
To convert your script to an audio file, the first thing that you need to do, like we were mentioning before, is to insert your text on their feature called the “Online Text Editor”.
This is where you will paste your copied script, and aside from letting you copy the text, you’ll also be able to do the following tasks:
-Edit your text.
-Insert or remove punctuation marks
-Add or remove words, and other elements that you may deem unnecessary.
And so on and so forth.
So basically, it’s what you would expect from a tool of this kind. Some sort of gateway before letting you actually create the voice.
The Online Text Editor is the one responsible for automatically checking for possible errors, by the way. This includes misspelled words, misplaced punctuations, and more.
This part of the software, is powered by an AI engine, and the cool thing here is that it automatically picks up on the different punctuation points and inflection points, within the text, so as to also recommend changes regarding the scripts pauses and breaks.
This is done so that the finished product sounds natural.
Full Voice Customization
Considering that Speechelo is run with an AI system, you may think that you have no control over what you want it to sound like.
Well, think again.
The software allows you to change the following:
- Pause and Breaks
- Voice Tones
This level of flexibility, allows for this really complex and congruent voiceovers, that Speechelo can provide, and is what, in my mind, sets it apart from all of the other alternatives out there, and allows you to give off that more natural vibe you are aiming for on your videos (which is the whole point of this).
So when it comes to pricing, the Speechelo sofwtare, is currently not a monthly subscription plan or an annual subscription plan. You can actually get the software, for a one-time price, and use all of their features.
For the standard version of Speechelo, the regular price costs $97 (once again, a one-time price).
Now, almost a hundred dollars is a reasonable amount of money for a lot of people (especially if you’re just starting out), but in my opinion, even then, you’ll be able to save yourself a lot of money on voiceovers anyways (in some cases, within your first voiceover) which already kinda makes it worth it.
The good news, however, is that there is a Founders’ Special Offer that allows a potential buyer to purchase their software, for only $47.
This is a little less than 50% off, which makes it pretty much a steal, and very affordable even for the little guy,
This is also a timed promotion, and that is currently what it’s going for, so it is best to check the website here to see if the offer is still live,
With $47, you will already have access to 30 voices from 23 languages. Along with this, you will also be provided with all the training, support, and updates that you will need to make the most out of it.
Now, even though you might not be using all of the languages…it’s always a great idea to have the options to use them, and some of the voices are even better than the English ones (the Brazilian voice is spot-on).
When it comes to the Speechelo upgrades, there are a few…
- Speechelo Pro – This upgrade cost $37/month or $47 every 3 months, and it gives you 30 new voices, which makes the total of voices you get, 60. These aren’t all English, by the way. You get around 8 English voices in total though. In addition to this, you also get an unlimited length in voiceovers, since the basic version will only allow for 700 words. You also get 40 royalty free background music tracks AND you get the commercial license rights for the software, in which you can sell your voiceovers.
- Speechelo Tube – This upgrade is a one-time price of $37, and it allows you to grab a Youtube video online, and both generate a unique voiceover that you can use on your own videos, as well as automatically translate it to another language.
- Lingo Blaster – This is the final upgrade, and costs a one time price of $37, and it allows you to use the LingoBlaster 2.0 on your videos, which will translate and rank your videos, for the 100 most popular keywords of that specific video niche, on those different languages, basically giving your videos more exposure.
Is there a Speechelo free trial?
Unfortunately, there is no free trial for the software, but they do offer a 60-day money-back guarantee if you are unhappy with the product.
The upgrades also offer a 60 day money back guarantee, except the Lingo Blaster upgrade, which only has a 30 day money back guarantee.
Who Should Use Speechelo?
Speechelo will be perfect for the following people:
- People who are not confident about using their own voice in their projects
- Those who want to stay away from robotic voice programs
- Those who want to save money from hiring voiceover artists and freelancers
- Those that do not like waiting for a week for their desired voiceover outputs
- Those who want to be able to customize how they want their audio to sound like
Simply put, the platform will be an ideal tool for people who need audio. No matter if they are for commercial or personal use, the Standard version, alone, will already work well for them.
If, however, you aims to grow their business and marketing strategies, upgrading to Speechelo Pro will also be a big help, although it’s a monthly fee…you can easily create hundreds of voiceovers and then just cancelling the software.
Summary: Speechelo Review
So that would be the conclusion of this little Speechelo review!
The question now is…Is Speechelo worth it?
Personally, I’d say 100% yes.
Even the front end, is extremely powerful on its own.
It bypasses the “robotic voice” issue that other software and free Microsoft voice programs have, because it takes into consideration punctuation, intonation, breathing, silences, and a lot more features (which you can completely control).
And it makes things a whole lot cheaper since if you have to pay a voiceover artist in Fiverr, you’d have to pay at least $65 for a 150-word script, which is way too expensive.
With Speechelo, I’d only have to pay a copywriter to produce my script, get the voiceover done (or you can just generate one through the Speechelo tube upgrade, from a competitor video) and publish it. Simple and straightforward.
So yes, if you are in the affiliate marketing, dropshipping niche, or if you’re running multiple Youtube channels or you want to create a Youtube channel without showing your face, then you want to at least give Speechelo a go.
