GrooveFunnels Vs Kajabi. Which Is The Better Platform For You?

All online entrepreneurs need a platform to either host their products, create their sites or store customer contacts.

It is better to have ready-made sites and platforms that allow for this…than to talk to a web developer and start from scratch. The problem is that there are so many platforms out there, so you’re kind of spoiled for choice in that regard (first-world problems, anyone?).

When it comes, in particular, to the platforms GrooveFunnels and Kajabi, which one should be your choice? In this GrooveFunnels vs Kajabi review post, I will help you make that decision, as I’ll be going over as much as I can when it comes to both of them.

Let’s head straight in.

GrooveFunnels Vs Kajabi

What Is GrooveFunnels? What Is Kajabi?

First things first…what are both of these software companies? What do they do?

Let’s look at what each of these powerhouse platforms are, and at an overview of what they can do. We’ll get to the features and pricing, a bit later.

What Is GrooveFunnels?

GrooveFunnels, formerly GrooveApps, is an all-in-one online digital marketing platform, that was developed by Mike Filsaime and his company GrooveDigital.

The software was launched only as the page builder GroovePages in December 2019, and went on to become a full-fledged platform, that officially launched to the public, as a whole in October 2020.

The software is designed to provide all the necessary tools, when it comes to digital marketing, in only one platform.

It allows for tasks such as creating sales pages, landing pages, complete websites, funnels, digital product sales funnels, webinars, email marketing, calendar scheduling, video hosting…and a lot more.

Specifically, here are some tools that you can use in GrooveFunnels:

  • GroovePages – World-class page and website builder
  • GrooveSell – Sales processing platform
  • GrooveAffiliate – Affiliate platform
  • GrooveMail – Integrated email autoresponder
  • GrooveBlog – Blogging and content management tool

Although the software is very recent (as of the writing of this article), the total count of its users already totalled to over 100 thousand. It has quickly become the fastest-growing digital marketing platform online, and intends to hit the number 1 spot, in 2023.

What Is Kajabi?

Kajabi was founded in 2010 by Travis Rosser and Kenny Rueter. Similar to GrooveFunnels, it is also an all-in-one marketing platform, except that it’s very much focused on the “online course” side of things, and it has one of the more robust and popular course platform layouts around the web, which is used by tons and tons of people (I think I currently have 3 courses that I’m subscriber to, that are on Kajabi).

With that said, here are some the things you can do with Kajabi:

  • Create your own digital products.
  • Create your own websites.
  • Process customer payments.
  • Handle email marketing and email analytics.
  • Create complete pages, sales and othewise.
  • Design and formulate sales pipelines.
  • Register, and keep track of customer analytics, and behaviors.

Since its launch, it has gathered more than 50,000 users from 120 countries. They have also recorded an estimated $1.5 billion when it comes to their sales between all of these users. Pretty impressive numbers.

Features Of GrooveFunnels

Here are brief descriptions of some features that GrooveFunnels offers. There are a ton of other features (which I go over on my complete GrooveFunnels review, here)

Website Builder: GroovePages

GrooveFunnels, can enable you to build and create your own website and pages, specifically with the help of the GroovePages technology.

Aside from designing pages, there are a few other things you can to with it. This includes:

  • Input checkout options
  • Have access to 1-Click Upsells
  • Customize pre-made themes, and templates
  • Create sales funnels
  • Integrate with multiple tools and also with other tools inside the Groovefunnels platform

They also use Mobile-First Indexing, and load most of the page on HTML (as opposed to their competition) which make the page loading speed fast. This makes it ideal for enhancing your SEO, since Google is prioritizing mobile and fast loading sites.

On top of this, you also get a free SSL certificate, which will help secure your site, which is accomplished through the website CloudFlare.

Sales Platform Tools: GrooveSell

GrooveFunnels, has an integrated online sales and payment processing tool, called GrooveSell, that allows you to sell your own online products, with a few clicks of a button. It will help you:

  • Organize shopping cart functions
  • Add payment methods
  • Monitor data regarding sales and revenue
  • Have access to transaction reports
  • Add discount codes, vouchers, upsells, recurring payments and more.

Other Marketing Tools…

Marketing is a crucial part of the business. Fortunately, GrooveFunnels can assist you with this, too. Some of the tools that GrooveFunnels has for this, include:

GrooveAffiliateThis is a tool for creating an affiliate program for your brand. As you may know, affiliate marketing is working its way to the most efficient strategies. This is a good way to attract customers to your brand.

GrooveMailGrooveMail, on the other hand, is designed for email marketing. With this, it is easier for you to reach your customers personally, and you can do anything you’d be able to do with something like SendLane, Getresponse or Aweber

GrooveBlogFor GrooveBlog, you can integrate a blogging platform to your site. You can publish content about your products, your company, their origin, and anything that can boost your site’s quality. You can also simply create content, to have it rank in the search engines, and get organic traffic to them.

As you can see, GrooveFunnels’ features live up to its promise that it is an all-in-one platform. But there is also a ton more stuff that you can do with it. If you’re interested in learning a bit more, you can check out this video which I made, below.

Features Of Kajabi

Now let’s look at some of the features of the Kajabi platform. This platform is a little less “all over the place” when compared to GrooveFunnels, and it has also been established for a lot longer period of time, than GrooveFunnels has.

As I mentioned before, even if Kajabi has the ability to do some major marketing functions, it’s very e-course oriented, and the whole purpose of using it, is if you want to run and sell your own online course.

Some of the features of Kajabi, are:

Website Builder

Kajabi’s platform allows its user to create a website of your preference. Just like many other alternatives out there, Kajabi has a custom drag-and-drop website building tool, which will allow you to have full control over the site structure, layout, look and feel. Thus, there is no need to learn any coding or HTML, or none of that. You get can choose to start a site from the ground up, or just simply start with a customized template, to make things easier.

Aside from website building, they also host the sites created in their platform (although they don’t do this for free).

The best thing about the Kajabi platform, in my opinion, is that it’s super simple, and it’s all included within one same hub. You can set up your course pages, from one dashboard, and you don’t have to be switching over different pages and such, to get the job done.

It’s also very elegant looking and clean, which is super important. Sometimes, less, is more.

Social Platform

Because you’ll be creating a course which can, later on, turn into a community, Kajabi will also assist you in all of the tools you need to start growing that community and in building a loyal audience. Some of the things Kajabi will help you do in that regard include:

  • Help you collect and store your visitor information.
  • Smart-segment your customer list
  • Create email marketing campaigns.
  • Publish posts on your website

Sales Process

Setting up your own online course, can be daunting. And this is especially true when it comes to processing payments and when money is exchanging hands. It’s one of the more crucial components of the whole process.

Thankfully, Kajabi has a very passive and secure process of integrating your sales process with the payment processor of your choice, in a few steps, which keeps things nice and simple.

It also doesn’t take any cut of your profits, each time you make a sale (0% transaction fees).

When it comes to the sales pipeline as a whole, you can easily add a checkout page, different payment gateways, create sales coupons, and more. You can also accomplish some of the more usual taks as setting a fixed price point for your products, or set a subscription fee.

Kajabi’s features are designed to connect numerous, eCommerce-related tools and combine all of them in one platform.

GrooveFunnels Vs Kajabi: Pricing

Let’s now look at the pricing for both of the software products, and what you’ll be able to get with both of them.

GrooveFunnels Pricing

GrooveFunnels has as or right now, 4 different pricing plans or options to be able to use the software:

GrooveFunnels Base AccountFREE. This account, is 100% free, you don’t need a credit card to get started, and it’ll give you access to 3 of the premium tools, of the platform. And these are GroovePages lite (for website and page building), GrooveSell (to support and sell your own digital products) and GrooveAffiliate (to promote products and create affiliate programs).

In addition to this, you can also get up to 3 custom domain integrations, on their Amazon servers to test out the page builder, on this plan. This is essentially free hosting on your sites, and you’re basically wasting money by NOT using them. Oh and by the way, you also get a free SSL certificate on your sites, for security all of which you don’t need to pay a dime to get (very uncommon in this space).

If you want to try out GrooveFunnels, you can get a free GrooveFunnels account here.

GrooveFunnels Silver $99/month – Apart from giving you everything inside the free account, this plan also gives you GrooveMail (an integrated email software with up to 10k contacts), GrooveMember (tool for membership site building), GrooveVideo (video hosting platform), and also bumps up your GroovePages lite tool, to GroovePages PRO (which gives you unlimited templates, domains and more).

GrooveFunnels Gold $199/month – With this plan, you get everything in the other two plans, and some additional tools. These tools are GrooveDesk (helpdesk platform and tool), GrooveBlog (an integrated blogging platform), GrooveCalendar (scheduling tool).

GrooveFunnels Platinum $299/month – This is the more premium option for GrooveFunnels, and it gives you access to all of the tools in the other plans, with the addition of both GrooveWebinar (webinar hosting tool), GrooveSurvey (survey building tool) and GrooveQuiz (quiz building tool).

Kajabi Pricing

When it comes to Kajabi pricing plans, these are three (Basic, Growth and Pro) and also a free 14 day trial/test drive of the platform, if you’re interested in trying the platform out first. Based on their website, here are their prices, as well as what each of them allow you to do.

Note: Some of the specific features, are only available to specific plans.

For example, the Advanced Automations, Removing Kajabi Branding, and Affiliate Programs…are only available in the Growth Plan and Pro plan, whereas the Pro Plan is the only one that offers a Code Editor feature.

With that said, all of the plans, come with the chat support, 0% fees, templates, automation (simple), webinars, quizzes and surveys and the Kajabi university.

When it comes to the pricing…you’ll obviously be getting a huge discount, if you go for the yearly route on any one of the plans. Thus, it might be in your best interest, to pay the amount up-front, especially if you’re going to be running your course, for a long period of time.

With that said, Kajabi does offer a 30-day money-back guarantee if you are aren’t happy with their services, so there is always that.

Also, and like I was mentioning before, if you don’t want to commit to the software right away, you can try out the 14-day free trial to get an overview of how the platform actually works and to see if it’s a good fit or not.

GrooveFunnels Vs Kajabi 4

Summary: GrooveFunnels vs Kajabi

Alright, so that would be the end of this GrooveFunnels vs Kajabi comparison article. Hopefully, it was somewhat helpful, and showed you the main differences between them.

Taking into consideration all that was mentioned here…What is the best option?

My recommendation…

You want to use GrooveFunnels if

You want to do more than just create an online course. Maybe if you’re interested only in doing email marketing or only in blogging, only creating websites or funnels (maybe for yourself or for clients), or only in creating webinars…then GrooveFunnels is an all around better option because of the flexibility.

GrooveFunnels also has a course membership tool called GrooveMember, that allows you to create membership sites and drip-feed, lock and schedule content to go out to your members, but it’s a lot less established and robust than the Kajabi platform is, so it’s probably not the best option solely for e-course selling.

On the plus side, GrooveFunnels is a bit more forgiving, and a lot more inviting. The GrooveFunnels free base account, gives you access to 3 of their tools for free, without you having to add a credit card, no “x day trial” and you also get free hosting on your site. You don’t need to use a subdomain (although you get one too) which means you can actually use your own site, and not deal with the “mysite.groovepages.com” thing.

You want to use Kajabi if…

You’re only going for the e-course, e-learning side of things, and you’re not even taking anything else into consideration. You just want to create and sell a course, and don’t want any more headaches.

In that case, Kajabi is a great great option. It’s already very established, has tons of people using it, and it’s super simple to set up and use. It also, already has the surveys, quizzes and webinars on the basic plan, which GrooveFunnels will charge you $299/month for, so that’s a thing.

Unfortunately, you have to enter your credit card information, with the 14-day free trial (which is a pain because you might forget to cancel and you might unwillingly get charged). Plus, you don’t free hosting for you site, like you would with GrooveFunnels.

All in all…

Both platforms are amazing, but you’ll want to choose GrooveFunnels if you’re going for broader projects like website building for clients, affiliate marketing through email marketing or running webinars, and you’re not solely doing e-course selling.

and you’ll want to go with Kajabi, if you’re more inclined towards using a specialized e-course platform, on an already established brand, and are planning to do so in scale or for a number of years, without necessarily needing to divert into other projects.
